by Benson is an award-winning Swedish design brand known for creating stylish, functional, and sustainable products for the home and garden with resilience in mind.
Zenny has become part of how the business is funded - stock and marketing committed to when the moment calls for it, rather than when cash allows.

Founded in 2021 by visionary entrepreneur and designer Anna Benson, the company focuses on creating everyday utilitarian items that are beautiful enough to be proudly displayed rather than hidden away. Their range covers watering, hand tools, garden apparel and home pieces, sold direct through Shopify to customers who will pay more for something well made.
by Benson sells all year, with a sharp peak when the garden season opens. Stock is bought throughout the year, but the big commitments come ahead of demand: order for spring in winter, and pay for it before the season proves you right. Get it wrong in one direction and you're out of stock in May. Get it right and a lot of capital is tied up in a warehouse while the quiet months are still running.
“The big orders come before the season starts. You're committing to stock months ahead of the sales that pay for it.”
“I knew what it would cost before I said yes. No security, no going through the whole company history with someone.”
Zenny assesses on live Shopify and banking data - current sales, current order volume, current cash flow - rather than on filed accounts from a year that may have little to do with where a business is now. It also sets the size, so the financing tracks where the business actually is.
Fixed fee agreed before she accepted, repaid in instalments over a period set at the start. No collateral, no personal guarantee, no surprises at the end.
The first round of financing went into stock during a slower period, at a size that matched where the business was trading. As sales grew, so did the rounds - later ones covering larger stock commitments and marketing spend to build on that momentum. It has since become a standing part of how the business is funded, drawn on when there's something worth putting money behind rather than a one-off decision made once a year.
Sales for January to August 2026 were up 160% on the same period last year, with order volume growing alongside - more customers, not higher prices.
"We ordered more than we normally would have dared to, and it sells because there is always demand for our products. That's really the whole story.”
